Vishrantwadi police station
A 60 years old man from Sangamwadi area of the Pune city has been booked under molestation charges by Pune city police, said officials.
Police have identified the accused as Govind Singh Randhawa (60). Vishrantwadi police told that a 45 year old woman approached the accused to purchase ration rice for the feeding of the dog. Accused promised her to make available rice at a much cheaper rate than the market.
On Friday, the accused along with the victim on his motorcycle went to a godown of ration located in Bharat Nagar in Vishrantwadi. At around 5:00 pm , the accused entered the godown along with the victim and closed the door. According to a complaint filed by the victim, the accused sexually assaulted her.
“Initially the complaint was filed at Yerwada police station and handed over to us. We have collected all information in this case and search of the accused is going on.’’said Police inspector Dattatray Bhapkar.
Bhapkar told, the victim and accused knew each other and because of which she approached him to get good quality rice for the feeding of her pet, but unfortunately, there was something different in the accused’s mind.
Immediately after the sexual assault, the woman approached Yerwada police station and registered a police complaint against the accused under 354 section and case has been transfered to the Vishrantwadi police station.
