Adjust Karna Padega': Video Shows Woman Refusing to Vacate Seat for Reserved Passenger
Footage of two women arguing over a train seat sparks social media reactions, highlighting issues with ticketless passengers on Indian Railways.
Indian Railways has been under heavy scrutiny online recently, with videos circulating that show train compartments overcrowded with passengers lacking tickets. A newly viral clip has intensified this issue, depicting two women in a heated dispute over a train seat, each claiming they had paid for it.
The viral video, shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), reveals an intense argument between two women over an upper berth seat in a train. One woman, resting on the berth with her son, is accused of occupying the seat without a valid ticket. The other woman, standing below, asserts that the seat was reserved in her name and being blocked by the ticketless passenger. Both women claimed the seat as a confirmed booking, not a RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation).
The woman on the berth refused to vacate the seat, insisting the other woman should “adjust.” She boldly stated, “I am not coming down; you call the TT. I will speak to them.” The woman with the confirmed ticket countered that it wasn’t her responsibility to call the TT, as she had a confirmed reservation. The woman on the berth retorted, “Adjust karni padegi yar (You have to adjust).”
Amid the confrontation, the woman with the confirmed seat called her father to explain the situation, describing the other woman as rude. The woman on the berth defended her stance, saying, “I’m just asking you to adjust. I’m not being rude.”
Since its online posting, the video has garnered significant attention, sparking a wave of reactions from social media users.
One user commented, “RAC is the biggest scam in railways. Our system’s fault for allowing such things to happen. The green lady must be thrown out of the train.”
Another added, “I am sorry but this has always been a female problem. You pay money for it but they will capture your seat like it’s their own or come to you and force you to exchange your seat with them. Have faced this issue multiple times and there is no relief to this idiotic behaviour”
Someone else shared, “I would have dragged her out if I heard she wants me to adjust.”
The video has garnered over 650,000 views.
