Rajwada Park’s playful offer gives daughters-in-law a free meal when dining with their mothers-in-law, delighting locals and netizens alike.

A hotel in Pune’s Baramati has introduced a humorous twist to recent government schemes and it has quickly become a viral sensation. The hotel, Rajwada Park on Bhigwan Road, has launched the ‘Ladki Sunbai Yojana,’ an amusing offer where a daughter-in-law (sunbai) can enjoy a free meal when accompanied by her mother-in-law (sasubai).

According to the advertisement hoarding, this quirky scheme has specific rules: the daughter-in-law will receive the same thali as the mother-in-law and at least five family members must visit the hotel to qualify for the offer. The initiative is a playful nod to the recent government schemes aimed at supporting women and youth in Maharashtra.

In its latest budget, the Maharashtra government introduced the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ which provides women aged 21-65 with a family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh with ₹1,500 in monthly aid. Following this, the government announced the ‘Ladka Bhau Yojana,’ offering on-job training and financial support to young men to combat unemployment. Under this scheme, youths receive monthly stipends during their training period: ₹6,000 for Class 12 graduates, ₹8,000 for diploma holders, and ₹10,000 for bachelor’s degree holders.

While these government initiatives focus on financial and employment support, Rajwada Park’s ‘Ladki Sunbai Yojana’ adds a lighthearted spin, encouraging families to dine together and enjoy a meal on the house, provided they meet the stipulated conditions. The advertisement has generated significant attention and laughter on social media, with many appreciating the hotel’s creative marketing approach.
