Residents of Pebbles 2 society and the surrounding areas are grappling with daily traffic congestion at Omkar Garden Chowk in Bavdhan. The persistent traffic jams are causing significant delays, unnecessary fuel consumption, and increased stress among commuters. Despite raising their concerns repeatedly, the residents’ calls for a traffic signal at this busy intersection have gone unheeded, leading to mounting frustration within the community.
Arpit Badwaik, a resident of Pebbles 2 society, voiced his concerns, stating, “The traffic situation at Omkar Garden Chowk has become unbearable. We spend precious time stuck in jams every day, which could easily be avoided with a traffic signal. It’s high time the authorities take action to resolve this issue.”
Madhavi Visal, another resident, highlighted the environmental impact, saying, “The daily traffic jams result in significant fuel waste. Not only is this a financial burden, but it’s also contributing to unnecessary pollution. A traffic signal would streamline traffic flow, saving both time and fuel.”
Residents are urging the traffic department to install a traffic signal at the Chowk, emphasizing that this simple solution could vastly improve the daily commute for hundreds of people in the area.
“We request the authorities to prioritize this issue and provide a timely solution. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about ensuring a smooth and safe commute for everyone,” said Anjali Deshmukh, another concerned resident.
In March 2024, residents of Pebbles 2 submitted a formal request to install a traffic signal at Omkar Garden Chowk. While authorities acknowledged the issue in a written response, no action has been taken so far. The situation is further exacerbated by illegal constructions on the service roads and undisciplined parking near the Chowk, leading to daily harassment for commuters.
As the situation worsens, the residents of Bavdhan remain hopeful that the traffic department will address their concerns and implement the necessary measures to alleviate the problem.
