Bollywood star Akshay Kumar made an early morning visit to the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai on Thursday, ahead of the upcoming release of his film Khel Khel Mein. During his visit, the actor offered prayers and made a significant donation of ₹1.21 crore towards the mosque’s ongoing renovation efforts. Akshay was accompanied by director Mudassar Aziz, who is at the helm of Khel Khel Mein.

Photographs of Akshay’s visit have been circulating online, capturing moments of his interaction with the mosque’s authorities. In a statement shared with India Today, Mohammad Ahmed Taher, the Administrative Officer of Haji Ali Trust, praised Akshay’s prompt and heartfelt response to the renovation needs. “Padmashri Akshay Kumar, a true Mumbaikar, was the quickest to respond with great warmth and devotion. On Thursday, he generously took responsibility for a section of the renovation expenses, amounting to ₹1.21 crore,” Taher said.

The actor was warmly welcomed by Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee of both the Haji Ali Dargah Trust and Mahim Dargah Trust, along with his team. The trustees expressed their gratitude to Akshay, offering prayers for the souls of his late parents, Aruna Bhatia and Hari Om Bhatia. “We pray for the prosperity of our country and for peace and harmony to prevail,” the statement added.
