In preparation for the upcoming state assembly elections, Pune district is organizing voter list update camps on August 11, 17, and 18. These camps are part of a special revision program by the Election Commission of India. Officials will be present at all polling stations to assist with updating the preliminary voter list, following a similar initiative held on Saturday.

Deputy Collector Meenal Kalaskar has emphasized the importance of verifying names on the list. Voters can address any discrepancies or missing names by submitting claims and objections at their local polling stations or through the Voter Helpline app and the Election Commission’s website.

Kalaskar also urged families of deceased voters and political party representatives to help remove outdated names from the list, ensuring its accuracy. As of the latest update, Pune district has 84.39 lakh registered voters, an increase of 1 lakh since the last Lok Sabha elections. The current voter list includes 44.03 lakh men, 40.35 lakh women, and 0.75 lakh third-gender voters, with 8,417 polling stations set up across the district.
