To promote a sustainable Ganesh festival on a grand scale, several awareness programs are being organized as part of the initiative by the esteemed Chief Minister of the state. To further support the eco-friendly celebrations, the Chief Minister has previously directed local governing bodies to offer clay for free to environmentally conscious idol creators and to provide space for exhibitions.

This year’s festival will be celebrated in a more effective and environmentally friendly manner. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has launched the “Eco Bappa” mobile app, which allows the public to get information about eco-friendly artisans, decorations, and materials, and to contact them directly. For this, individuals or organizations that create eco-friendly idols, decorations, and ornaments in your area have been encouraged to participate. Moreover, several social organizations have started an initiative to repurpose the clay from idols that have been immersed in artificial ponds. This recycling concept entails gathering the clay after immersion and providing it at no cost to sculptors for crafting new idols. In the past, this initiative has been well-received in regions such as Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Thane. You can also get involved in this effort this year and contribute to a more eco-friendly celebration.
