Telangana Bus Conductor and Nurse Assist in Onboard Delivery During Raksha Bandhan Journey
In a remarkable incident on a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus, a female conductor and an onboard nurse assisted a pregnant woman in delivering her baby during a journey on Rakshabandhan. The woman, identified as Sandhya, was traveling from Gadwal to Wanaparthy to celebrate the festival by tying a rakhi to her brother when she unexpectedly went into labor.
The bus was en route on the Gadwal-Wanaparthy route when Sandhya began experiencing labor pains. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the bus conductor, Bharati, immediately informed the driver and the other passengers, requesting help. The bus was brought to a halt, and a nurse who was also a passenger on the bus stepped in to assist Bharati with the delivery.
With the combined efforts of the nurse and the bus conductor, Sandhya successfully gave birth to a baby girl onboard the bus. After the delivery, both mother and child were safely transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care. Reports confirm that both are in stable condition.
TGSRTC Managing Director, VC Sajjanar, praised the quick thinking and compassionate actions of the bus staff in a post on social media platform X. He expressed his gratitude and admiration for the conductor Bharati, who played a crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery of the baby. Sajjanar highlighted this incident as an example of the dedication and social responsibility shown by RTC employees, who go above and beyond to assist passengers in need.
The heartwarming incident has garnered widespread attention and appreciation, especially for the humanity displayed by the TGSRTC staff during such a significant festival.
