Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a proud father of two, has been sharing his thoughts on how he nurtures his children’s appreciation for art and culture. His daughter, Shora Siddiqui, is already making strides in the acting world, participating in Shakespeare workshops in London at just 14 years old. Nawazuddin believes that art is something one must develop a taste for, and he’s been guiding his children toward meaningful content, steering them away from the “meaningless content” that is so prevalent online.

Speaking with a news agency, Nawazuddin remarked, “Art is not a regular thing, you have to develop a taste for it.” He stressed the importance of curating what his children consume, saying, “From a very early age, I used to put hardcore pressure on them to decide what they wanted to see, otherwise, they’d get lost because there was so much meaningless content everywhere so you’d have to be selective about what you want to watch and not watch.”

The actor is also a strong advocate for literature, urging people, especially the younger generation, to read more. “Read Manto, Premchand, Bharat Muni’s Natyashastra… we have great writers in our country,” he advised. He expressed his concerns about the negative effects of constant online browsing and believes that reading and engaging with art are essential for intellectual and emotional growth.

Reflecting on broader societal issues, he emphasized the need for a change in how children are nurtured today. “The whole ecosystem is to be blamed. Entire fabric will have to be changed,” he concluded.

On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui continues to work on several upcoming projects, including ‘Section 108’ and ‘Noorani Chehra’.
