Pune, July 4: The Agrawal family has suffered another tragedy with the passing of Devichand Kishanlal Agrawal, the grandfather of murdered businessman Ketan Agrawal. The 83-year-old died on Saturday evening while undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a private hospital in Pune.

According to family sources, Devichand Agrawal had been admitted to the ICU two days ago after his health deteriorated. He was reportedly deeply distressed by the death of his grandson, Ketan Agrawal, who was allegedly pushed off Lohagad Fort and murdered. The incident had left him emotionally shattered, and he was said to be constantly worried about the family’s situation and the ongoing investigation.

Family members said Devichand Agrawal was struggling to cope with the loss of his grandson. He had also reportedly expressed regret over Ketan’s engagement to the prime accused, Siya Goyal. His deteriorating health eventually led to his hospitalisation, where he passed away despite medical treatment.

He had also demanded a thorough investigation into everyone allegedly involved in arranging Ketan’s marriage with Siya Goyal and called for the strictest punishment, including the death penalty, for the accused Siya Goyal and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary.

Accused Sent to Judicial Custody

Meanwhile, the two accused in the Ketan Agrawal murder case, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, were produced before a court on Friday.
