Footage from the incident shows Zirwal and three others climbing back into the building after avoiding a potential fall, with police personnel present at the scene.
Zirwal is currently opposing the demand for reservation for the Dhangar community under the Scheduled Tribes (ST) quota. Meanwhile, MLAs from Maharashtra’s tribal communities staged a protest at the Mantralaya while a cabinet meeting, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, was underway. Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with other ministers, were also present at the meeting.
The Dhangar community, which presently receives reservations under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, is protesting in Pandharpur, demanding inclusion under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) quota. They argue that they belong to the Dhangad community, which is already recognized in the Constitution.
