Pune: PMC Demolishes Illegal Sheds Outside Shops On NIBM Road In Kondhwa
Pune, June 12, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Anti-Encroachment Squad demolished several allegedly illegal sheds erected along the road leading to NIBM Annexe following complaints from local residents.
Citizens had raised concerns that the unauthorized sheds were creating a mess, obstructing public space, and affecting the overall appearance and accessibility of the road.
Acting on the complaints, PMC carried out the demolition drive and cleared the encroachments.
Residents have welcomed the action but are calling for a sustained crackdown on illegal encroachments across the area. They say regular inspections and strict enforcement are necessary to prevent encroachments from reappearing and to keep roads and public spaces free for citizens.
The demolition has reignited demands for cleaner, safer, and better-managed public infrastructure in the rapidly growing NIBM–Mohammadwadi corridor.
