The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the beginning of the southwest monsoon’s withdrawal from Maharashtra, starting with Nandurbar district. The monsoon began retreating on October 5, which is the usual date for the state’s monsoon withdrawal.

Over the next two to three days, conditions are favorable for the withdrawal to continue across more regions of Maharashtra. However, officials are still uncertain whether Pune will see the monsoon retreat during this period.

Rainfall in Pune is expected to pick up from October 7, with light to moderate showers and possible thunder activity. Despite the rainfall, significant downpours are not anticipated, and temperatures are likely to drop slightly.
