Pune: Woman succumbs to injuries after husband assaults her with LPG cylinder

A 47-year-old woman, Madhuri More, was assaulted by her husband, Manohar More, with an empty LPG cylinder. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Monday.
The incident took place around 2:30 am at Munjaba Wasti in the Dhanori area. More, who worked as a maid, had been seriously injured in the attack. Her husband More was arrested and produced in court, where he was granted police custody until Tuesday.
According to the police, Manohar, an alcoholic, attacked his wife over suspicions about her character. The couple had been arguing when the situation escalated, and the accused, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, hit his wife with an empty LPG cylinder.
More, a former driver, is currently unemployed and also suffering from cancer, according to police sources.
A case has been registered against the accused at Vishrantwadi police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
