Pune Tops Maharashtra in 85+ Voter Demographic With Over 121,000 Registered Elderly Voters

Maharashtra Assembly Polls: Pune District Collector Confirms Preparedness For Vote Counting Day
Pune district has emerged as a leader in Maharashtra with the highest number of voters aged 85 and above, boasting 121,827 elderly voters according to data from the Election Commission. Following closely are Mumbai Suburban with 93,040 voters and Nashik with 60,564.
At the opposite end, districts like Gadchiroli, Bhandara, and Gondia recorded the fewest elderly voters, with figures at 6,634, 8,422, and 9,149, respectively. As the state assembly elections approach, the spotlight on elder representation has become increasingly significant, particularly in Pune.
In addition to its senior citizen voters, Pune also leads in the number of voters with disabilities, with 88,536 registered, followed by Thane (37,854) and Solapur (29,358).
