In a new trend, social media creators are using public transport as stages for viral videos. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are flooded with content from Delhi Metro and Mumbai’s iconic local trains. While authorities require permits to film on railway premises, some influencers are ignoring these rules and, at times, taking dangerous risks.

A recent example is a viral video from a group called “Unreal Crew.” In the video, a young man, along with three friends, performs a daring dance stunt on a Mumbai Local train. Originally posted in September, the clip gained massive traction recently, with nearly 30 million views.

The video begins with the young man flashing a “Yo Yo” sign at the camera. He then steps back, jumps, and grips the train’s handrails. Supported by two friends, he performs a twerking move in the crowded carriage. Fellow passengers were visibly surprised, and viewers online were quick to react to the unusual act. A fourth friend was reportedly the cameraman behind the viral reel.

The stunt, however, has sparked criticism. Railway authorities and the public have raised concerns over such performances on public transport, questioning both the safety and propriety of these stunts. Authorities worry these acts could encourage more risky behavior, leading to accidents in already crowded and bustling train environments.

As creators continue to seek unique backdrops for their content, the line between entertainment and safety is increasingly blurred.
