Pune News: Husband Attempts Suicide After Stabbing Wife During Family Dispute in Baner Hotel
Pune, November 8, 2024 – A 24-year-old woman was found unconscious inside a sofa storage compartment at her residence in Phursungi and tragically passed away while being transported to the hospital, authorities confirmed. Identified as Swapnali Umesh Pawar, the victim was a resident of Hundekarvasti. Her husband, Umesh Pawar, a taxi driver from Lavhegaon in Solapur district, alerted the police upon discovering her.
According to officials, Umesh had left home early on November 8 for a work trip to Kej in Beed district and returned late at night, only to find the main door latched from the outside. Upon entering the home and discovering his wife missing, he searched for valuables, including cash, gold, and his wife’s phone. While checking the sofa storage compartment, he was shocked to find his wife inside, unconscious. Emergency services were called immediately, and the woman was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police Inspector Vinod Pawar and the night patrol team investigated the scene, collecting fingerprints and deploying a dog squad as part of the inquiry. Senior police official stated, “The body has been sent for post-mortem and will be returned to the family. We have gathered some leads, and investigation teams are actively pursuing them to identify any suspects.”
The police investigation continues, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding Swapnali Pawar’s death.
