Pune, November 11, 2024: – In Pune district, 1,054 complaints of model code of conduct violations were received via the Election Commission’s C-Vigil app since October 15. Of these, 997 complaints were found to be valid and addressed, while the remaining 57 were dismissed as baseless, according to Jyoti Kavre, Coordination Officer for the Complaints and District Control Unit.
The C-Vigil app has gained strong public engagement, allowing citizens to report violations directly to election authorities. Through the app, residents can upload photos and videos of violations anonymously. At the district level, a dedicated C-Vigil cell has been set up to monitor and address these complaints efficiently.
So far, assembly constituencies have seen varying numbers of complaints, with areas like Vadgaon Sheri, Kasba Peth, and Bhosari receiving the highest numbers. Notably, 945 of the valid complaints were acted upon within the 100-minute response target, achieving a 95% timely resolution rate.
The Election Commission’s primary aim is to ensure adherence to the model code of conduct and maintain a peaceful election environment. Citizens are urged to report violations by uploading evidence on the C-Vigil app or calling the toll-free numbers, 18002333372 or 1950, provided by the district election administration.
