Pune, 12th November: Europe and other countries are facing a significant shortage of skilled manpower, presenting a promising opportunity for Marathi youth. To bridge this gap, an International Skill Development Center has been established in Pune. Through this center, the Maharashtra government aims to facilitate employment for at least 400,000 young people overseas, as announced by Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister and MLA from Kothrud, Chandrakant Patil.

Patil was addressing the youth of Kothrud when he shared this information. The center has been launched in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at the Government Distance Education Polytechnic in Shivajinagar. Patil urged young men and women from Kothrud, Baner, Balewadi, Pashan, and Pune to benefit from this initiative to secure their future.

Maharashtra, known as one of the most developed states in India, attracts over 50% of the nation’s foreign investment, with a business-friendly environment that draws both domestic and international investors. This has led to increased competition for jobs within the state. The Maharashtra government thus aims to create additional opportunities for local Marathi youth, noted Patil.

Highlighting Pune’s reputation as a hub for education, Patil explained that the decision to establish the center here would allow students from across the state to benefit. The center will provide training in essential skills, foreign languages, and other requirements for overseas employment. Patil expressed confidence that this initiative would greatly benefit Marathi youth in securing jobs abroad.

A First in History

For the first time, there is a global demand for skilled manpower, and Maharashtra’s MahaYuti government has entered into an agreement with Baden-Württemberg, Germany, to supply a workforce trained in 31 skill areas. In the first phase, 10,000 young people will be given opportunities, with plans to create 100,000 jobs over the next 18 months. Ultimately, this program aims to train 400,000 young individuals for employment opportunities in Germany. This is a pioneering initiative for the state government.
