Maharashtra Assembly Election In Pune: Pimpri Vote Counting To Take Place At Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex In Balewadi

Pune, November 22: The vote counting process for the Pimpri Assembly constituency will be held on November 23, 2024, at the Weightlifting Hall of the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi. The preparations for the counting process have been completed as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, informed Election Returning Officer Archana Yadav.

A total of 24 tables have been arranged for the counting process, including 20 for general vote counting, three for postal ballots, and one table for the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS). Candidates are required to appoint counting representatives for each table. Identity cards will be issued to candidates, counting representatives, and election representatives, who must wear valid ID cards throughout the process. Unauthorized individuals will not be allowed inside the counting hall.

The counting will be conducted in 20 rounds, and results will be announced in phases through loudspeakers at the counting center. Candidates and their representatives are strictly prohibited from using electronic devices such as mobile phones, pagers, calculators, tablets, and electronic wristwatches inside the premises.

Training for Counting Staff Completed
On November 22 at 3 PM, counting supervisors, assistants, and micro-observers were trained under the supervision of Returning Officer Archana Yadav and Assistant Returning Officer Jayraj Deshmukh. The training covered procedures for postal ballot counting, EVM counting, and other essential aspects. Employees were instructed to carry valid IDs, as entry into the counting center without them will be prohibited, and mobile phones will not be allowed. Before the process begins, all counting staff will take an oath of confidentiality.

The Pimpri constituency recorded a 51.78% voter turnout, with 2,02,766 voters exercising their rights. Among them, 1,05,397 were male voters97,360 female voters, and 9 voters from other categories.
