68 Officers Earn B Tech Degrees at CME Pune, Including Graduates from Abroad.

During a Convocation Ceremony held on December 3, 2024, at Sarvatra Hall of the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune, a total of 31 officers from the Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) Course and 37 officers from the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course were awarded B Tech degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. This event also included the participation of two officers from Bhutan and one officer each from Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Zimbabwe, all under the auspices of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, who delivered the Valedictory address. In his speech, he highlighted that the graduating officers would encounter greater challenges due to the increasing complexities in the infrastructure needs of the defense forces. He encouraged the young officers to stay informed about technological advancements and to apply their knowledge practically through innovative approaches.

Lieutenant General A K Ramesh, the Commandant of the College of Military Engineering (CME), also spoke to the graduating officers, urging them to continually improve their professional skills by staying updated on the latest advancements in engineering. The academic report for the Autumn Term – 2024 was delivered by Major General Gaurav Kaushal, the Deputy Commandant and Dean of the College of Military Engineering (CME).

The esteemed Gold Medal for achieving the top position in the B Tech (Civil Engineering) program was presented to Captain Divas Negi from the EODE-126 course and Lieutenant Mohak Walia from the TES-42 (Civil Engineering) course. Captain Lalit Kumar received the Gold Medal along with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) award for Best Student in B Tech (Electrical Engineering), while Lieutenant Adamya Pratap Singh received the same honor for TES-42 (Mechanical Engineering). The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC award for Best Student in B Tech (Civil Engineering) was awarded to Captain Purnima Tiwari for the EODE-126 course and Lieutenant Amandeep Singh for the TES-42 course. The student officers showcased projects they completed on current and relevant topics, demonstrating the knowledge they gained in civil engineering, geographical information systems, mechanical, and engineering subjects.
