The flash floods that hit Wanowrie badly had affected several areas getting paralysed till today.
Pune Pulse in the last two years consistently followed up with the local Corporators as well as Pune Municipal Corporation drainage department, sanitation as well as road department to maintain cleanliness as well as reconstructing the dilapidated wall.

All these years this work faced financial crunch and political unwillingness to complete the construction of broken wall and clean the nala which has become a dumping ground.
On March 24, 2021 local Corporator Prabhag 25 Prashant Jagtap and Ratnaprabha Jagtap laid foundation for the work of constructing the wall and refurbishing it.
Prashant Jagtap, local Corporator Prabhag 25 and ex Mayor of Pune told Pune Pulse that the work was pending as Pune Municipal Corporation had limited funds. Also, the entire last year due to Covid19 we were not allotted any funds. But as soon as we were given funds to develop the wall we installed bollards and now the work for reconstruction of the wall has begun.”

Sunil Rathod, junior engineer, Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office told Pune Pulse that the work has finally begun. At present the work will begin with cleanliness of the area, restructuring the wall and developing the area properly. This wall had collapsed in the 2018 floods and needed restructuring. Also, to avoid congestion of traffic at the spot PMC has decided to provide ample space within the nala park (gas crematorium) and hence the main gate has been shifted a little inside towards the crematorium.
Jagtap further said that the work is being under my ward level funds which has already begun and shall be completed shortly.
Pedestrians as well as motorists had a tough time driving through this road as the wall had collapsed making the road narrow. With the new construction the residents shall heave a sigh of relief with the road becoming wider but also expect from Pune Municipal Corporation to keep the road clean.
