PMC to buy ventilators soon ; plans to arrange more beds

Keeping in mind the increasing Covid19 cases, Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to buy more Ventilators as well as plans to increase more beds in the city.
PMC has made an action plan wherein the civic body has decided to increase oxygen beds as well as covid care center beds. Under this action plan the civic body plans to increase 10 percent oxygen beds at the Covid care centers.
A meeting was held between Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Vikram Kumar, Commissioner Vikram Kumar and Additional commissioner Rubal Agarwal. Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol shared the information recently.
Keeping in mind the need for Ventilators, PMC plans to buy 30 ventilators. The officials working in this area have been advised to take immediate steps towards this. PMC plans to also include private hospitals in this task.
PMC also plans to open COEP hostel and agriculture college hostel and other covid care centers and make 10 percent oxygen beds at these centers too. Also similar ten percent oxygen beds shall be created more at the other covid care centers.

PMC also plans to seek help from hotels and convert them into covid care centers.
The civic body has decided to acquire Corporation run schools, buildings, and other premises where oxygen beds shall be created. A report in this regard has been demanded. Also, PMC is planning to extend 20 each beds in Laigude hospital and Bopodi hospital.
PMC is also planning to increase and convert many non covid hospitals into Covid hospitals bi signing an MoU with them. More 100 beds will be increased in Shivaji Nagar jumbo covid hospitals. With this the number of beds in jumbo center will increase to 600. Dalvi hospital shall have more 100 beds, which will increase its number of beds to 200.
