₹574.18 Crore Sanctioned For Four-Lane Upgrade Of National Highway-63 In Maharashtra
The government has sanctioned ₹574.18 crore for the rehabilitation and four-lane upgrade (with paved shoulders) of a 37.525 km stretch of National Highway-63, covering the Javal-Borgaon Kale section.
This route is of significant importance as it connects key cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nanded, Udgir, and Latur in Maharashtra. It will also facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce and benefit the business community. The highway acts as a critical link for traveling from Pune to Latur and Visakhapatnam via National Highway-65, and from Nanded to Udgir and Latur via National Highway-50.
Additionally, it provides a shorter route for heavy vehicle movement to and from major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nanded, Udgir, and Latur, utilizing National Highways-65, 52, and 548C. The four-lane expansion of this road will reduce traffic congestion and ease vehicular movement in the region.
This strategic upgrade will not only improve connectivity but also play a crucial role in boosting local economic activities by facilitating faster and more efficient transportation. It is expected to bring significant relief to commuters and contribute to the overall infrastructure development of Maharashtra.
