Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lokesh M took a strict stand after an elderly couple was left waiting for 50 minutes at the residential plot department. Upset with the staff’s negligence, the CEO ordered 16 officials to work while standing for 20 minutes as a punishment.
The incident occurred after Lokesh M, a 2005-batch IAS officer, noticed the elderly man standing unattended at a counter via CCTV footage. Despite his direct instruction to address the situation, the man remained waiting. Furious, the CEO visited the department, reprimanded the staff, and imposed the ‘stand-up’ penalty.
The Noida Authority office is equipped with 65 CCTV cameras, which the CEO routinely monitors to ensure prompt service, particularly for senior citizens. The viral video of the incident has garnered widespread praise on social media, with users commending the CEO’s action for enforcing accountability and improving service in government offices.
