In this publicity stunt, the influencer tossed Rs 20,000 in cash onto the roadside and invited his followers to join in a challenge to find it. The influencer, Bhanuchander, also known as Anchor Chandu, is 30 years old and lives in Balanagar.
The reckless act caught attention quickly, and the Rachakonda Police responded without delay. They shared the video on X, announcing his arrest, which showed him promoting the event, hiding cash in a bush, and ultimately being detained by the police.
The Police mentioned in the post, “An irresponsible Instagram Content Creator has been arrested. A viral video showed an individual throwing a bundle of Rs 20,000 on the roadside of ORR and challenging viewers to find the money.”
“This irresponsible behavior caused chaos, and inconvenience, and posed a serious threat to road safety. Such reckless actions not only put lives at risk but also set a negative example for others. Social media should be used to inspire and educate, not to act irresponsibly,” they emphasized.
The police also called on influencers to use their platforms responsibly and avoid actions that endanger public safety.
One user mentioned the police in a comment, saying, “He has encouraged many young kids to engage in betting, so please investigate that too.” Another user added, “Great job, sir! Please take strong measures against all promoters of online money games.” A third person remarked, “Finally, I found the ‘few moments later’ video.”
