Traffic Diversions on Pune-Nagar Highway Announced for Vijaystambh Program Starting December 31
Pune, 30th December 2024: A Vijaystambh greeting program will take place at Koregaon Bhima on January 1, 2025, with a large number of attendees expected. To ensure smooth traffic flow on the Pune-Nagar Highway and prevent congestion, significant traffic diversions will be implemented starting from 2 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and will remain in effect until midnight on January 1, 2025.
Traffic Diversions and Routes:
Pune to Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar): Vehicles should take the Kharadi bypass road and continue via Mundhwa, Magarpatta Chowk, Pune-Solapur Road, Kedgaon Chauphula, Nhavare, and Shirur.
Alandi and Chakan (via Solapur Road): Drivers should proceed through Hadapsar, Magarpatta Chowk, and Kharadi bypass road towards Vishrantwadi and continue to Alandi and Chakan.
Mumbai to Pune: Heavy vehicles should use the Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangaon, and Alephata route. Light vehicles can proceed via Vadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, and Shirur.
Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and Katraj: Drivers should take the route through Mantarwadi Phata, Magarpatta Chowk, and then proceed to Shirur via Hadapsar and Kedgaon Chauphula.
Traffic Restrictions and Road Closures:
The Alandi-Tulapur Bridge over the Indrayani River is closed to heavy vehicles; only light vehicles are permitted.
Heavy vehicles heading to Wagholi via Vishrantwadi and Lohgaon will be diverted.

Navale Bridge, Sinhagad Road
Katraj Chowk
Khadi Machine Chowk, Kondhwa
Mantarwadi Phata, Fursungi
Markal Bridge
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has urged the public to cooperate with the traffic management plan. “Billboards with information on traffic changes will be placed at various locations. Drivers are requested to follow instructions carefully,” said Zende.
The police department has advised the public to plan their travel in advance and adhere to the traffic guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe experience during the event.
