77th Army Day Celebrations in Pune: Indian Army Showcases Robotic Dogs and Cutting-Edge Technology | Watch

The Indian Army marked its 77th Army Day in Pune on Wednesday, honoring the historic appointment of Field Marshal KM Cariappa as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in 1949. The occasion celebrates India’s military autonomy and pays tribute to soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.  

The event, presided over by Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth, GOC-in-C Southern Command, took place at the BEG & Centre Parade Ground in Khadki.  

A key highlight was the introduction of robotic dogs, known as Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULEs). These advanced machines, recently inducted into the Indian Army, enhance operational efficiency in difficult terrains while reducing risks to human soldiers. The robotic dogs were prominently showcased during the parade, demonstrating the Army’s commitment to innovation.

The ceremony featured a majestic march past by eight contingents from various regimental centers. Advanced weaponry and cutting-edge combat vehicles were also displayed, reflecting the Army’s technological prowess.  

The celebrations included the “Know Your Army Mela,” which showcased the Army’s advancements and core values. A Women Agniveer contingent also participated, emphasizing inclusivity and progress.  

Army Day is a day of reflection, remembrance, and inspiration. It highlights the Army’s motto, “Service Before Self,” fostering patriotism and national unity.  

The 77th Army Day celebrations in Pune were a blend of tradition, innovation, and respect for the soldiers who ensure the nation’s safety.
