PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD: A multi-crore flat owned by Walmik Karad, an accused in the Beed extortion case, has come to light in Wakad’s Park Street (Park Ivory) residential complex. The flat, located on the sixth floor (Flat No. 601), is registered in the names of Karad and his wife.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a notice for overdue property tax amounting to approximately ₹1 lakh. The tax collection department has affixed the notice to the door of the flat, warning of further action if the dues remain unpaid.

Meanwhile, Karad has been booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to murder Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village. Following this development, protests have erupted in Parli, where Karad’s supporters have called for a shutdown.

Demonstrators, including Karad’s 75-year-old mother and wife, have staged a sit-in outside the Beed City Police Station, demanding justice for Karad. The municipal corporation’s next steps on the unpaid taxes remain crucial in this unfolding story.
