Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has once again failed to meet the mandatory January 15 deadline for presenting the draft civic budget for 2025-26, as stipulated under the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporation Act, 1949. This marks the third consecutive year the submission has been delayed.

To address the issue, Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale, after securing an extension from the PMC standing committee, has been conducting extensive meetings with heads of various departments to finalize the annual budget document.

The draft budget, which outlines the civic body’s financial priorities, remains pending, with the administration under scrutiny for failing to ensure timely compliance with statutory regulations.
