International Convention Centre Planned For Pune, Says Union Minister Mohol
Pune: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol has announced plans to establish an International Convention Centre in Pune. The proposal has already received approval from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, with land allocation now being finalized.
Speaking about the project, Mohol said, “Pune has seen immense job creation and industrial growth, making it a prime location for an International Convention Centre. The Chief Minister recently held a detailed meeting to discuss this and other key developments.”
The project will require land to be provided either by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) or the state government. “We are working on the modalities, and the land will be allocated soon,” Mohol added.
Mohol also addressed the pending Purandar airport project during his discussion with the Chief Minister. “The airport is expected to be operational by 2029, with land acquisition set to begin shortly,” he stated.
Additionally, Mohol emphasized the city’s long-term planning initiatives, including the 24×7 water supply project, water meter installation, and sourcing additional water from Mulshi Dam to meet Pune’s growing needs.
These projects aim to position Pune as a hub for economic and infrastructure development, catering to its expanding urban population.
