A disturbing incident has surfaced again in Pune, highlighting the need for stricter safety measures in schools. A Class 7 student from a reputed English medium school in Daund, Pune, allegedly offered Rs 100 to a Class 9 student to rape and murder a female classmate who had reported him for forging his parents’ signature. As per information, the boy had forged his parents signature on the report card.
As per the information received by the Daund Police, the accused got angry with the victim as she complained to the class teacher about the forged signature he did on his report card. The accused after this incident planned to take revenge from the girl. He offered Rs. 100 to his senior classmate, and asked him to rape and murder his classmate. The accused and victim are classmates. The incident came to light when the senior boy reported this incident to the teacher.
The victim’s parents reported this matter to the teachers, only to get a cover-up attempt by school authorities. The principal and two teachers allegedly tried to suppress the matter. Moreover, the accused was just scolded and freed.
Following a complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the Daund police have registered a case against the school principal and two teachers for attempting to cover up the crime and causing mental harassment to the victim. The police have started investigating the matter and have assured that strict action will be taken against all those involved. As per the current reports, police inspector, Gopal Pawar said,” We have booked all the three, the headmaster of the school and the two teachers under the Juvenile Justice Act section 75 and section 3 (5) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) as they tried to suppress the matter, although being well aware of the incident. Being a minor, the accused was exempted from the case.”
This incident raises serious concerns over school safety and the need for stricter measures to protect students from harassment and violence. The incident has caused immense mental distress for the young girl, highlighting the importance of providing a safe and supportive environment for students. The concerns are also raised because the accused is under 17 and cannot be punished.
