“Comedy Is Not My Forte”: Ranveer Allahbadia Apologizes After Complaint to Mumbai Police

Mumbai: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as Beer Biceps, has issued a formal apology for making inappropriate and offensive remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. His comments sparked widespread backlash and led to official complaints being filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Allahbadia admitted to his lapse in judgment and expressed sincere regret over his remarks. Acknowledging that comedy is not his forte, he pledged to be more responsible with his platform and vowed never to misuse it again.
I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry.

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” Allahbadia stated in his apology. He further added, “I take full responsibility and extend my sincere apologies. The podcast is watched by people of all ages, and I do not want to be someone who disregards that responsibility. Above all, I would never want to show any form of disrespect toward family.”
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia posed a highly disturbing question to a contestant on the show: “Would you rather witness your parents engaging in sexual activity every day for the rest of your life, or participate once to put an end to it forever?” The remark was widely condemned for its insensitivity and lack of decency, triggering severe criticism across social media platforms.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia stated that he has requested the show’s creators to remove the offensive portions of the video. “I have realized the importance of using this platform more responsibly. This has been my biggest takeaway from the entire incident. I promise to improve myself and be more mindful,” he said.
The incident has reignited debates on the ethical boundaries of comedy and content creation, particularly on digital platforms with wide audiences. While some have accepted his apology, others argue that such remarks should not be dismissed lightly and are demanding stricter accountability from public figures.
Whether this controversy will impact Allahbadia’s standing as a digital creator remains to be seen, but his public acknowledgment of the mistake marks a crucial moment in his career.
