Tathawade: The 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated with immense enthusiasm at Ganga Amber Society, where residents participated in a series of vibrant events.

The festivities commenced in the morning with the foundation of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, followed by the soulful rendition of Powadas, ballads narrating the tales of his valor.

One of the highlights of the celebration was a spectacular Lezim dance performance by 30 women from the society in the evening, captivating the audience with its rhythm and energy. Dressed in traditional attire, children, elders, and men also actively participated in the festivities.

Children’s Shivgarjana Enthralls the Audience
Adding to the fervor, young children infused the atmosphere with energy by chanting powerful Shivgarjana slogans, echoing the legacy of the great warrior. A talk on Shivcharitra was also held, shedding light on Shivaji Maharaj’s exceptional leadership, governance, military strategies, and his progressive stance on women’s empowerment.

Grand Chariot Procession Lights Up the Night
A magnificent chariot procession was taken out in the evening, featuring a beautifully adorned idol of Shivaji Maharaj. Amidst the rhythmic beats of drums and cymbals, Shivbhakts danced with saffron flags, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The night was further illuminated by dazzling fireworks and decorative lighting, enhancing the splendor of the occasion.

The celebration saw participation from residents across various societies, all uniting to pay homage to the great Maratha warrior. The event successfully instilled a sense of pride and reverence, turning the entire area into a hub of Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy.
