Yoga guru Ramdev, the founder of Patanjali, has blocked Bryan Johnson on his X account after the US millionaire criticized his claims about anti-aging. On Tuesday, Ramdev shared a video of himself running alongside a horse, asserting that certain Patanjali products can help with anti-aging and boost immunity. In response, Johnson commented that the air quality in Haridwar, where Ramdev lives, is so poor that it actually heightens the risk of heart and lung diseases. This remark prompted Ramdev to block Johnson, who had previously left a podcast with Nikhil Kamath early due to concerns about air quality in India.

The problematic post:

“Ghode ki tarah tez daudne ki taakat, strong immunity, anti-aging aur power chahiye toh Swarna Shilajit avam Immunogrit Gold khaaiye (If you want to run like a horse, want strong immunity, anti-aging, and power then consume Swarna Shilajit and Immunogrit Gold),” Ramdev wrote while posting his video on X.

Swarna Shilajit and Immunogrit Gold are two products from Patanjali, a company established by Ramdev and Balkrishna in 2006.

Bryan Johnson, the US millionaire, commented on the post to highlight the ongoing issue of air quality in India. He stated, “The air quality in Haridwar right now is PM 2.5 36 µg/m³, which is equivalent to smoking 1.6 cigarettes a day. This increases the risk of heart disease by 40–50%, lung cancer by three times, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and can lead to early death, with 5–7 years lost,” Johnson claimed.

Shortly after, he tweeted that Ramdev had blocked him. Johnson had recently made news when he abruptly left Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, citing concerns about air pollution in India. He has repeatedly expressed worries about the worsening air quality in the country.

The millionaire, who invests millions in his rigorous anti-aging regimen, mentioned that the poor air quality in India caused various health issues during his brief stay in the country.

“When I was in India, I had to end this podcast early because of the poor air quality. Nikhil Kamath was a wonderful host, and we were really enjoying ourselves. The issue was that the room we were in was circulating outside air, which rendered the air purifier I had brought with me ineffective,” the millionaire later clarified.
