The Pune-Bengaluru Expressway, an important infrastructure initiative covering 700 kilometers, is poised to significantly shorten travel times between the two cities. This expressway is anticipated to cut the current 15-hour journey from Bengaluru to Pune down to just seven hours.
With an estimated investment of Rs 50,000 crore, this ambitious endeavor is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna Phase 2 program. The expressway will consist of six lanes and will have a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h, facilitating quicker and more efficient travel. Additionally, it will connect with the Pune-Mumbai Expressway in Pune, enhancing connectivity between these two major urban centers, as reported by Times Property.
The route of the Pune-Bengaluru Expressway will traverse the Maharashtra districts of Sangli, Satara, and Pune before entering Karnataka. Within Karnataka, it will pass through several rural regions, including Belagavi, Bagalkot, Gadag, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, and Bengaluru. The expressway will ultimately terminate at the proposed satellite ring road in the Muthagadahalli area of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region.
