Actor Rakhi Sawant has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell in connection with the controversy surrounding Samay Raina’s now-deleted YouTube reality show, India’s Got Latent. Sawant, who appeared as a panellist on the show’s 12th episode alongside YouTuber Aashish Solanki, comedian Maheep Singh, rapper Yashraj, and The Habitat owner Balraj Singh Ghai, is scheduled to record her statement on February 27.

In addition to Sawant, YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahabadia will also appear before the Cyber Cell on February 24. Chanchlani has approached the Supreme Court seeking to quash or transfer a Guwahati FIR accusing him of promoting obscenity. Meanwhile, comedian Samay Raina is set to receive a second summons after failing to appear for his scheduled statement recording on February 18.

The controversy erupted when Ranveer Allahabadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant in a members-only episode of India’s Got Latent: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex or join them?” The question, originally borrowed from another YouTube show and approved by the panel, sparked laughter from the audience and engagement from the contestant. However, it drew heavy criticism once the episode was made public.

Following the backlash, Allahabadia issued an apology, calling it a “lapse of judgment” and requesting the show’s creators to remove the controversial segment.
