Pune: Kondhwa Police Take Action Against Noisy Bikes, Crush 20 Loud Silencers
Pune: In a strict action against noise pollution, Kondhwa Police have seized and destroyed 20 Bullet motorcycles fitted with illegally modified loud silencers that created firecracker-like sounds on the roads. The crackdown comes ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, as police intensify patrols in the area.
Residents had lodged complaints about riders disturbing the peace, especially affecting senior citizens and students preparing for their 10th and 12th-grade exams. Responding to these concerns, police conducted a special operation, confiscating the modified motorcycles and crushing their silencers with a municipal road roller.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajkumar Shinde, Assistant Commissioner Dnyankumar Godse, Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, and Police Inspector (Crimes) Raouf Sheikh. Authorities have warned of continued action against illegal vehicle modifications that cause public nuisance.
