Pune (March 5): The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has successfully acquired 100% of the required land for the Maan-Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 project, which spans 23.20 kilometers. Of the total land required, 99.94% has already been handed over to the Metro concessionaire company, and the work on the project is currently 83% complete.

The state government approved the implementation of this project on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis on February 9, 2018.

For the successful execution of this project, PMRDA has entered into a concession agreement with Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd. The agreement requires the availability of all necessary land before construction could begin. As a result, PMRDA has ensured the availability of all the land required by the concessionaire.

“For the construction of the Metro Line 3, a 263.78 sq.m. plot near the Pune University side of the Raj Bhavan premises was required for building a staircase. A proposal for transferring this land was submitted to the Raj Bhavan office in November 2022. The Raj Bhavan office has now approved the transfer of the land, completing the process of acquiring 100% of the land needed for the project,” said Dr. Dyaneshwar Bhale, Public Relations Officer, PMRDA.
