Pune Public Urination Incident: Gaurav Ahuja and Associate Remanded to Police Custody
Gaurav Ahuja and his companion, Bhagyesh Oswal, were arrested on Sunday for engaging in public urination and lewd acts. They have been placed in police custody until March 10. Ahuja was apprehended in Karad, Satara district, after a viral video surfaced, showing him allegedly intoxicated and urinating at a crowded traffic junction at Shastri Nagar chowk in Yerwada. An eyewitness recorded the incident and shared it on social media, where it quickly gained attention.
Gaurav Ahuja and Bhagyesh Oswal were produced in court on Sunday and remanded to police custody until March 10. The incident occurred on Saturday around 7:30 am. A video captured Ahuja stepping out of his BMW and urinating on the road while Oswal watched from the front seat. Ahuja then allegedly made an obscene gesture towards the person recording before speeding away, smirking at the camera.
After a complaint was filed, police teams were formed to arrest the accused. Amid public outrage, Ahuja released a video apology on Saturday, expressing remorse for his actions.
