According to media reports, the goddess Tripura Sundari, who is revered in the area, is thought to have an aversion to loud sounds, prompting the community to choose quieter festivities.
Durgapur, Jharkhand
Holi is not observed in Durgapur village, Bokaro, Jharkhand, owing to an incident that occurred over a century ago. The son of the local king, followed by the king himself, met with a tragic fate during the festival of Holi. As a result, the king issued a final edict prohibiting the celebration of this festival.
