Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma Officially Divorced: Lawyer Confirms Marriage Dissolution
Mutual Consent Divorce Granted at Bandra Family Court
Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer-actress Dhanashree Verma have officially parted ways. After months of speculation, the couple was granted a divorce by mutual consent at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai on Thursday. The confirmation came from Chahal’s lawyer, who stated, “Divorce has been done. The marriage is dissolved.”
Chahal and Dhanashree got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot in December of the same year in a private ceremony in Gurugram. Their relationship had been the subject of widespread speculation in recent months, with reports of separation surfacing since December last year.
Legal Proceedings and Court Decision
The Bombay High Court had earlier directed the Bandra Family Court to expedite the decision on the couple’s divorce case, waiving the six-month cooling-off period. A bench led by Justice Madhav Jamdar ruled that the final judgment should be delivered by Thursday, considering Chahal’s commitments in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
Reports had suggested that Dhanashree was set to receive an alimony amount of Rs. 4.50 crore. However, when questioned about the alimony details, Chahal’s lawyer refused to comment, stating, “Nothing, no more comments.”
Chahal’s IPL 2025 Move and Ongoing Speculations
As Chahal prepares for IPL 2025, where he was acquired by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs. 18 crore, rumors surrounding his personal life continue to circulate. Recently, the cricketer was linked to RJ Mahvash, with both being spotted together in Dubai during the ICC Champions Trophy. The speculation intensified when the duo was reportedly seen together just hours before Chahal appeared in court for the divorce proceedings.
Despite the divorce being finalized, neither Chahal nor Dhanashree has made an official statement regarding their separation. It remains to be seen whether they will address the media or let their legal representatives handle further communications.
