Bengaluru Teacher Arrested for Extorting Student’s Father Using Affair and Private Videos

A Bengaluru school teacher, Sridevi Rudagi (25), has been arrested along with two accomplices, Ganesh Kale (38) and Sagar (28), for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from a student’s father with whom she had an affair.
The victim, a trader living with his wife and three daughters, had admitted his five-year-old child to the school in 2023, where he met Sridevi Rudagi during the admission process. She kept in touch with him, and they began exchanging messages and video calls, eventually leading to a personal relationship.
Using private photos and videos from their meetings, Rudagi initially extorted ₹4 lakh from him. In January, she demanded ₹15 lakh more.
When the victim decided to relocate his family to Gujarat, he visited the school to collect a Transfer Certificate. There, he was confronted by Rudagi, Kale, and Sagar, who showed him explicit photos and videos and demanded ₹20 lakh. Under pressure, he transferred ₹1.9 lakh but continued to face threats.
Unable to endure the blackmail, the victim approached the police. Following an investigation, all three accused were arrested and have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
