Pune, April 8, 2025 – Concerned over the deteriorating hygiene and water quality in his locality, Sameer Punjabi, a resident of Parge Nagar in Kondhwa, has written a heartfelt letter to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), urging immediate action at the Jyoti Chowk water valve point. The letter has also been addressed to all societies receiving water from the same valve.

Societies affected include Mayfair Society, Sarvodaya Society, Ujwal Park, Kausar Baug, Bramha Majestic, Kubera Colony, Natasha Society, and several others. In his letter, Punjabi highlighted that the area around the water valve has become severely unhygienic due to continuous leakage. “We have witnessed pigs drinking from the leaking water. The ground is muddy and filthy, posing a serious health threat to all who rely on this supply,” he stated.

He requested the PMC Water Department to urgently repair the leaking valve, clean the surrounding area, and take measures to ensure that clean, safe drinking water is delivered to the hundreds of families residing in the connected societies.
