Pune, April 8: In a heartwarming display of community service, two volunteer-driven groups—A Friend in Need, founded by Madhu Vohra, and Helping Hands, an informal group devoted to aiding the underprivileged—came together for a noble social outreach initiative. Both groups have consistently worked towards uplifting those in need, with A Friend in Need successfully running for the past 14 years in Pune.

As part of their latest initiative, the volunteers visited Saraswati Anath Ashram in Dapodi, where they distributed snacks to the children residing there. The joy and smiles on the boys’ faces were a touching reminder of the power of small gestures. Following this, the team extended their outreach to the underprivileged communities residing near Pune railway station. Here too, snacks were distributed to children and families in need, bringing comfort and a sense of care to many.

The organisers described the experience as a blessing, emphasizing how meaningful it was to bring happiness to those facing tough life circumstances. “Even a small act of kindness can make a big difference,” said one volunteer.

The group encourages citizens to come forward and support such initiatives in any way possible. They also expressed gratitude to all members whose contributions made the activity a success.
