After recording the highest temperature in 128 years this April, Pune is now experiencing a significant change in weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 48-hour alert for Pune city and surrounding regions, warning of unseasonal rainfallstrong winds, and thunderstorm activity.

According to the forecast, gusty winds between 40–50 kmph are expected to sweep through the city and nearby ghats over the next two days. The region may also experience cloudy skies, thunder, and lightning accompanied by intense rainfall.

On Monday, Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2°C, with today’s forecast indicating similar highs and a minimum temperature of 22°C. Weather conditions will remain partly hot and cloudy, giving residents some relief from April’s scorching heat.

Areas such as Shivajinagar, Pashan, Rajgurunagar, Koregaon, Hadapsar, and NDA all registered temperatures around 37–38°C. This trend is expected to continue for the next few days.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious during sudden weather changes and avoid outdoor activities during stormy conditions.
