Pune's July 2026 Events: Mark Your Calendar; From Classical Ragas to Crowd-Work Comedy
A music festival praying for rain, a comedian with 6,700 fans already interested, and indie nights at High Spirits, Pune’s July is busier than it looks

Pune: July in Pune is usually associated with wet roads, chai, and excuses to stay indoors. This year, the city’s events calendar has other plans. From a two-day classical music festival in its 11th edition to an open jamming night that asks for nothing but your voice or your instrument, the first week of July in particular is stacked. Here is everything worth knowing.

SwaraMalhar: A Musical Prayer for Rain — 11 & 12 July
For eleven years now, Pune has been hosting SwaraMalhar, a classical and semi-classical music festival with a very specific intention. It is described as a musical prayer to God for rain, rooted in the tradition of Malhar ragas that have historically been sung to invoke the monsoon. This year it returns to Ganesh Kala Krida Manch on July 11 and 12, beginning at 5:00 PM each day and running for four hours per session.
The festival is conducted in Marathi and Hindi and is an initiative of Swara Zankar’s SwaraZankar Academy. Tickets start at ₹300 and an all-days pass is available for those who want the full experience across both evenings. For anyone who has never sat through a proper Malhar performance during the actual monsoon, this is one of the more genuinely immersive things Pune offers in July.

Harsh’O’Ullas ft. Harsh Gujral — Starting 4 July
Stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral, known for his crowd-work style and his show Jo Bolta Hai Wohi Hota Hai, brings his new special Harsh’O’Ullas to Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hall in Pune on July 4, with shows continuing through August 30. The show runs for one hour and thirty minutes, is in English and Hindi, and is open to audiences aged 16 and above. Tickets start at ₹799.
More than 6,700 people had already marked themselves as interested before bookings opened, and listings show spots filling fast. Gujral has performed across India and in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. This is a touring show with multiple venue options listed, but the Pune dates are the earliest on the schedule.

Jamming Night at FC Road Social — 4 & 5 July
If performing is more your speed than watching, Jamming Night at FC Road Social runs across July 4 and 5, starting at 6:00 PM each evening. This is an open music session built around Bollywood and includes five other venue options across the city. Entry is ₹299 onwards, the age limit is 21 and above, and over 3,700 people have registered interest. Bring an instrument, bring your voice, or simply come to be part of the room.
Off Beat Evenings at The Hype Cafe — 2 to 5 July
Running across four evenings from July 2 to 5, Off Beat Evenings is an acoustic jamming experience at The Hype Cafe in Pune. Sessions start at 8:00 PM and last one hour. This one is open to all age groups, no prior experience required, and tickets are priced at ₹499. A venue cover charge of ₹300 to ₹500 applies separately and is redeemable against food and beverages at the cafe. Participants are welcome to bring their own instruments.

Creators Connect: Content Creator and Founder Meetup — 4 July
For those whose weekends are better spent networking than watching a show, Creators Connect is hosting a Content Creator and Founder Meetup at COEP’s Bhau Institute on July 4, starting at 10:30 AM. The event brings together content creators and startup founders in the same room, with a focus on collaboration and growth. This is a morning event, which means there is still plenty of Saturday left for the Harsh Gujral show in the evening.
Bhuwin Live at High Spirits Cafe — 5 July
Rounding out the first weekend, indie artist Bhuwin performs live at High Spirits Cafe on July 5, starting at 9:00 PM. High Spirits on Cafe Lane in Koregaon Park is one of Pune’s most established live music venues, and an indie set there on a Sunday night is a solid way to close out the week.
Epitome Night Out — 5 July
Also on July 5, Epitome at The Mills hosts its Night Out from 9:00 PM onward, positioning itself as Pune’s premium party option for the evening. For those who want something louder and less acoustic to end the weekend, this is the alternative.
Across music, comedy, networking, and nightlife, Pune’s first week of July 2026 covers almost every preference. Most events are already available for booking and several are filling up quickly.
