BJP Maharashtra spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar has submitted a letter to Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale, urging immediate completion of the pending road widening work in Karvenagar.

The letter highlights that on January 23, 2025, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a decisive demolition drive, removing structures obstructing the planned widening of the Karvenagar access road. The action was widely welcomed by local residents and thousands of girl students from institutions under the Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha, who expressed their gratitude to the administration.

However, despite the bold action, Khardekar pointed out that four months have passed since the demolition, yet the actual widening work has not commenced. With the unseasonal rains already affecting the area and the monsoon fast approaching, he raised concerns over public safety and questioned whether the administration was waiting for an unfortunate accident to occur before acting.

In his letter, Khardekar emphasized the urgency of completing the project and called on PMC to resume and finish the roadwork without further delay. He appealed to the Commissioner to ensure that the citizens of Karvenagar, especially students and daily commuters, receive much-needed relief from the long-standing issue.
