Man Held For Impersonating Army Officer in Pune; Probe On
In a swift and coordinated operation, a man impersonating an Indian Army personnel was arrested near Bishop School in Pune, Maharashtra. The arrest was made by a joint team of the Southern Command Military Intelligence, Military Police Unit, and Lashkar Police Station of Pune City Police following a credible intelligence tip-off.
The accused, identified as Abhishek Bhosale, son of Shivaji Bhosale, had allegedly been misleading officers at Lashkar Police Station by claiming to be an active Army officer. Military teams had been monitoring his suspicious activities in the Pune Cantonment area and, after confirming the intel, apprehended him on May 28 around 2:00 pm.
Items recovered from the accused include:
- Two sets of combat uniforms
- One pair of DMS boots
- A green belt
- A nameplate with “Abhi Bhosale”
- A fake Army identity card
- Combat T-shirts
- One peak cap
- One combat cap
- A scarf and other military gear
A case has been registered under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Lashkar Police Station. A detailed investigation is in progress, and Abhishek Bhosale is currently being jointly interrogated by military and police authorities.
