Viral Video: Contractor Used ChatGPT to Build CC Road, Got Bill Approved by Just Sending a Photo to Engineer
In a world where artificial intelligence is becoming part of everyday conversations, its reach is no longer limited to tech hubs or high-end industries. It’s slowly trickling into places one wouldn’t expect — even remote villages. A recently viral video has left the internet stunned, not because of some breakthrough invention, but because of how AI was used in the most unexpected way — to allegedly claim government payment for a road that was never actually built.
At the heart of this surprising story is a local contractor who, according to the video, pulled off an unbelievable trick using AI tools — including ChatGPT and an image-editing AI platform. But before you imagine a robotic machine laying concrete, let us tell you what really happened.
The video, which has now been viewed by millions, begins with a contractor standing on a rough, unpaved village road. He clicks a photo of the area, which clearly shows the dusty, uneven ground. But instead of calling in workers or starting construction, he takes a far more “innovative” route.
Using AI — possibly in combination with ChatGPT for instructions and an AI image generator — the contractor gives a command: “Convert this dirt road into a fully paved cement road.” Within seconds, the software processes the image and produces a photo of the same spot, now appearing as a fully constructed RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) road, complete with smooth surfaces, white lane markings, side gutters, and perfect leveling.
What happened next is what truly stunned viewers.
The contractor simply forwarded this AI-edited image to a government engineer via WhatsApp, along with a message suggesting that the road had been completed. To everyone’s shock — at least in the video — the engineer seems convinced. Praising the “quality” of the work, he approves the payment, saying: “Bhaut acha kaam kia apna bill laga do”
(Great work! Go ahead and submit the bill.)
And that, dear reader, is how a dirt path allegedly turned into a paid public project — without a single spade of concrete being poured.
The Internet Reacts: Shock, Laughter, and Disbelief
The video was uploaded on Instagram by a page called naughtyworld and has since exploded across social media platforms. Some users couldn’t believe their eyes, while others jokingly applauded the contractor’s “creativity.” Comments poured in, with one user saying, “Now that’s how you use AI like a true desi!” Another wrote, “This guy really fooled the engineer with pixels, not pavement.” Many viewers also raised ethical concerns. While some found humor in the situation, others were quick to point out that, if true, this represents a disturbing misuse of technology — turning corruption into something even AI can be used to disguise.
What makes this even more striking is not just the fake road, but the reality it reflects. In many developed areas, people often use AI for fun, shortcuts, or even mischief — not always for the right reasons. Meanwhile, in rural regions, there are still people who don’t even know such technology exists. They continue to wait patiently, trusting that a promised road will be built, unaware that someone may have used AI to fake the work and collect the payment.
This video — real or not — holds a deeper message. Instead of using tools like ChatGPT to cut corners or fool systems, why not use them to actually solve real problems? Technology should be a bridge, not a barrier — something that lifts people up, not leaves them behind.
